The 36th annual Western Pool and Spa Show will once again return to the Long Beach, Calif. Convention Center, and is scheduled from Thursday through Saturday, March 13-15.
This year, the California Pool and Spa Association, formerly SPEC, will use the Western Show as a venue to unveil the changes that have been made to the organization to advance its commitment to the pool and spa Industry.
The WPSS will offer numerous training and educational opportunities designed to improve the quality of workmanship and services.
The show boasts of the service industry’s largest seminar schedule with classes for beginners to advanced specialization, and includes water chemistry, equipment repair, electronic controls, heaters, business classes, quick books, as well as money management ideas. There are also classes for builders. With 84 classes in all, a service professional will have a tough time deciding which classes to attend.
With attendance topping 10,000, the Annual Western Show has become one of the premier pool and spa industry trade shows in the United States. And it still remains faithful to its original purpose — to educate and train pool and spa service technicians and the trade while giving manufacturers and distributors the opportunity to reach this very specific and influential portion of the swimming pool and spa industry.
Seminars will be presented in nine classrooms on Thursday, from 1 to 5:45 p.m.; Friday, from 8 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.; and Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.
The show also hosts a large variety of companies that provide goods and services to the pool and spa industry. The exhibit hall will open on Thursday, from 6 to 9 p.m., and continue Friday, from 2 to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 1 to 6 p.m. Show attendees are invited to walk the exhibit floor for free while meeting company representatives, learning valuable trade secrets.
The show starts on Thursday afternoon with an exhibitor “thank you” mixer, from 4 to 5 p.m., complete with finger foods and drinks. And during the show, valuable door prizes will be given away each hour, culminating with a new truck give-away on the final day of the show. In this special edition of Service Industry News, we present a complete schedule of seminars on page 15 as well as a preview of exhibitor offerings on page 18.
