Challenge yourself: Attend the 2017 trade shows

Smart service professionals have long been aware of the benefits of attending regional trade shows. It is because these events present invaluable networking opportunities, providing the opportunity to strengthen existing relationships and forge new ones. It is because these events feature hands-on equipment training, where service technicians can interact with new technologies and ask direct questions of equipment manufacturers. It’s also because of helpful seminars, where both rookies and veterans can brush up on basic water chemistry, delve into complex equipment installation and repair, or gain important business insights.

Just about everyone in the industry attends regional trade shows. Builders, retailers, installers, manufacturers, managers, and technicians are all there, soaking up what knowledge can be packed in to about two or three days on the exhibit floor or within the many classrooms.

This year, exciting venues range from Atlantic City, Orlando, San Antonio, New Orleans, Long Beach and more. With such fun venues, this year’s shows promise to be both business opportunities vacations in one.

For this special regional trade show issue, we have assembled information from seven shows.

They include four shows sponsored by affiliates of the Association of Pool and Spa Professionals. These are the Mid-American Pool & Spa Show, Jan. 16-19 in Indianapolis, Indiana; the Pool & Spa Show, Jan. 24-26 in Atlantic City, New Jersey; the Everything Under the Sun Show, Feb. 17-18 in Orlando, Florida; and the Southwest Pool & Spa Show, Jan. 17-20 in San Antonio, Texas.

Other major shows are also scheduled across the country, including the Desert Pool & Spa Show, Jan. 19-21 in Phoenix, Arizona, the National Plasterers Council Annual Conference, Feb. 8-10 in New Orleans, Louisiana, and the Western Pool & Spa Show, March 9-11, in Long Beach, California.

Additionally, the World Aquatic Health Conference will be held Oct 18-20 in Denver, Colorado, and the National Drowning Prevention Alliance will hold its conference April 11-14 in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania.

We also cover the regional Table-Top events occurring across the country.

Late in the year, two additional shows occur, including the Pool Industry Expo, Sept. 28-30 in Monterey, California, and the International Pool, Spa, & Patio Expo, Nov 1-3, in Orlando, Florida. These shows will be covered later in the year as the shows approach.
