'Tis the time for industry show season
By Marcelle Dibrell
Winter, for the pool and spa industry, represents a brief reprieve from the everyday hustle that is marked by the swim season. Water chemistry, no longer influenced by bather load, is a breeze.
The leaves have fallen and have long since been filtered out. The pools are covered.
It’s the time the industry has allotted for regional trade shows, presenting service professionals the opportunity to brush up on their knowledge, to learn new skills, and become familiar with new products and equipment.
And so from January through April, pool and spa associations put on major industry events across the country, each competing for attendance through bigger and better venues.
Every year, only the best locations are chosen, and this year is no different. From historic Washington, D.C. to the boozy Big Easy, this year’s trade show season promises to be a blast.
For this special regional trade show issue, we have assembled information from seven shows.
They include four shows sponsored by affiliates of the Association of Pool and Spa Professionals. These are the Mid-American Pool & Spa Show, Jan. 14-17 in Indianapolis, Indiana; The Pool & Spa Show, Jan. 29-31 in Atlantic City, New Jersey; the Everything Under the Sun Show, Feb. 22-23 in Orlando, Florida; and the Southwest Pool & Spa Show, Jan. 23-26 in San Antonio, Texas.
Other major shows are also scheduled across the country, including the Desert Pool & Spa Show, Jan. 11-12 in Phoenix, Arizona; the National Plasterers Council Annual Conference, Feb. 6-8 in Washington, D.C.; and the Western Pool & Spa Show, March 21-23, in Long Beach, California.
Additionally, the National Drowning Prevention Alliance will hold its conference from April 15-18 in New Orleans, Louisiana. We will also cover one of the IPSSA’s Table Top events.
Later in the year, three additional shows will be covered as the show dates approach.
