Florida hosts in-person trade show

Florida hosts in-person trade show

Yes, the Everything Under the Sun Show is meeting in person in Orlando, Florida, at the Orange County Convention Center on February 19-20, 2021. Early registration numbers say that the Florida Swimming Pool Association (FSPA) membership will be there. Show organizers thank the many exhibitors and instructors who came together to make this special event happen.

Show organizers said the combined efforts of the Orange County Convention Center and Florida state office staff in Sarasota will ensure those who attend the Expo can experience the safest possible environment. The facility has received national acclaim for their creation and implementation of safety protocols, and numerous events have taken place there over the past months.

“We are proud of the ongoing measures taken by the OCCC to improve safety and sanitation during events,” said Wendy Parker Barsell, FSPA Executive Director.

For attendee safety, classroom capacity will be kept at 50 percent, seats will be placed 6 feet apart and there will not be tables in the classrooms.

Classes will be grouped in four-hour morning or afternoon blocks on Friday and Saturday. Each block will be held in a single classroom, and students may choose one classroom per morning and one per afternoon. Upon entering, the seats attendees choose will be theirs for the entire session.

The precautions are to keep everyone safe – there’s even a separate entrance and exit to the hall.

“Of course, we respect those individuals and partners who choose to wait and join us next year – we’ll leave the light on for ya!,” said Maurice Bushroe, FSPA president.

New this year at the show, The Tile Doctor, in coordination with the Facebook Group page 14 PSI Industry Lounge, is putting on a tile, stone and glass installation seminar on Feb 17 and 18, 2021 from 8a.m. to 5p.m.

The event is sponsored by Litikol, The Tile Doctor, as well as Orenda and Basecrete.

Pre-registered attendees will get hands on training by Litikol USA and learn about the latest products for setting glass and waterproofing. It includes an outdoor paver clinic by The Tile Doctor with Florim USA. The experts from Orenda will be there teaching the importance water quality has on tile, glass and stone. Special guest speaker Danilo Bonazza, a world renowned mosaic artisan and past winner of the World Tile Installation Competition will also present on his past works, challenges overcome, and will hold a special question and answer session. Although the workshop is free, space is limited due, to social distancing, to the first 50 people to sign up.

According to Jeff Hampe, the tile stone and installation seminar organizer, efforts are being made to record the event so that it can receive a wider audience. Check with the 14 PSI Facebook group page for more details Also at the Everything Under the Sun show, the Annual FSPA Membership Meeting will take place during the show at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, February 19.
