Expand your know-how this show season

As winter settles across the country, the pool season may be over, but the learning season is just beginning. From January through March, regional pool and spa trade shows provide a vital opportunity for pool service professionals to advance their skills, earn certifications, and explore the latest industry innovations.

Trade shows serve as one-stop hubs for professional growth, offering certifications such as Certified Pool Operator (CPO), alongside workshops on advanced topics like water chemistry, hydraulics, and electricity. For business owners, these events also feature seminars on marketing strategies, internet tools, regulatory updates, and sales techniques.

For hands-on professionals, manufacturer-led sessions cover equipment essentials, including pumps, heaters, UV and Ozone systems, and saltwater chlorine generators. Whether you’re a seasoned expert or new to the pool and spa industry, these shows are invaluable for staying ahead in a competitive market.

This winter’s trade show circuit is a packed schedule of events nationwide:

• Mid-America Pool & Spa Show (Jan. 14–16, Indianapolis, Indiana).

• The Pool & Spa Show (Jan. 28–30, Atlantic City, New Jersey).

• Southeast Pool & Spa Show (Feb. 4–6, Nashville, Tennessee).

• Southwest Pool & Spa Show (Feb. 4–8, Houston, Texas).

• Everything Under the Sun Show (March 14–15, Orlando, Florida).

These events are backed by the Pool and Hot Tub Alliance, highlighting their focus on professional standards and innovation.

Several additional shows cater to specific regions and specialties:

• Desert Pool & Spa Show (Jan. 11, Mesa, Arizona).

• IPSSA Region 7 Table-Top Show (Jan. 25, San Diego, California).

• National Plasterers Council Conference (Feb. 26–28, Orlando, Florida).

• Western Pool & Spa Show (Feb. 6–8, Long Beach, California).

• Associ a t ion of Aquatic Professionals Conference (Feb. 3–6, St. Pete Beach, Florida).

Looking further ahead, fall 2025 will feature Pool Industry Expo in Monterey, CA, and the International Pool, Spa & Patio Expo. More details on these later events will be available in future issues.

These trade shows are more than educational opportunities — they are the foundation for building a successful business. By attending, service techs gain access to the latest tools, techniques, and connections needed to thrive in the industry.

This special issue of Service Industry News is your go-to guide for navigating this year’s major regional trade shows. Keep it handy, plan your schedule, and prepare to take your skills and business to the next level.
