CAN YOU TOP THIS?

Welcome to the latest edition of our popular “Can You Top This?” column, featuring the newest entry in the Service Industry News “Horror File. ”

This issue’s entry comes to us from Rick Reyes of Rick Reyes Pool Service, in Anaheim, California.

“I have been fortunate to be a loyal reader since your first issue back in January of 1987,” writes Rick.

“Unfortunately , when I stored the newspapers over 30 years ago, I just put them in a box and stored them under the house. Back then I thought I would put plywood down over the dirt floor to help protect them. Well, as you can see from the photo, that did not work as well as I hoped. Is there a chance that in the future you will be able to put all those early issues in digital format so that we can save and see how the industry as changed over the decades. Or if you do not have access to the past issues, put out a request in your future issues to see if anyone else has saved them?

Ohh, that is too bad Rick! Does anyone have extra issues they can share? Thank goodness we are online now!

Other publications like to print lots of pretty pictures of beautiful pools, spas and well engineered installations.

At Service Industry News, we would rather go behind the scenes and take a closer look at the type of stuff our readers encounter everyday — cracked tiles, spaghetti plumbing, rats in heaters, cars in the pool and more!

When you are out in the field and you see something that doesn’t look right, send us an email along with a picture and a brief description: Attention Horror File, serviceindustrynewscd@yahoo.com.
