Hayward donates $10,000 to St. Jude

This December, the sales and marketing teams for Hayward Holdings, Inc. elected to donate the entirety of their winnings from a recent competition (totaling $10,000) to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.

It is difficult to envision a more worthy recipient.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital the only comprehensive cancer center of its kind devoted solely to children. Treatments developed at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to 80 percent, and St. Jude has freely shared all its scientific breakthroughs to improve the care and survival rates for children worldwide.

Hayward’s competition took place in October as a part of Hayward’s annual North American Sales Meeting. During the event, participants competed in various team-building activities to win cash prizes to be designated to the charity or nonprofit of their choice. All the winners chose to direct their winnings toward St. Jude.

Hayward emp loyees and executives took note of the group’s decision, with the unanimity of the decision making a specific impact.

“At Hayward, we talk a lot about building better,” said Albert Miller, Hayward VP of Sales. “But it’s clear that this attitude isn’t just limited to pool products; it’s our broader attitude toward building a better world. When that’s your guiding principle, even things like internal competitions can serve a bigger purpose. And I can’t think of a better way to demonstrate that than this.”
