Major pool industry manufacturers, distributors, and associations have donated more than $400,000 to Step Into Swim, the Pool and Hot Tub Alliance’s drowning prevention initiative.
The donations — presented by Fluidra, Hayward, Pentair Pool, Heritage Pool Supply Group, and Solenis — were announced this January at the Northeast Spa and Pool Association’s Pool & Spa Show in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Fluidra contributed $100,000 for the fourth consecutive year, reaffirming its commitment to providing low-cost or free swim lessons to children in underserved communities nationwide.
Hayward celebrated its 100th anniversary with a $100,000 donation, consisting of $50,000 in cash and $50,000 in equipment for a Step Into Swim pool. This continues Hayward’s longstanding support of the initiative.
For the second consecutive year, Pentair Pool donated $100,000, reaffirming its commitment to creating more swimmers through safe swim education.
And with its $100,000 donation this year, the Northeast Spa & Pool Association (NESPA) joined other industry groups in becoming a Diamond Level supporter, continuing its multi-year commitment to providing water safety and swim education to children.
Other industry supporters, including Periodic Products also presented donations at the show.
In 2024, Step Into Swim raised more than $1.2 million, which was matched by the PHTA Board of Directors for a total of $2.4 million. Nearly 200 programs across 43 U.S. states, Canada, American Samoa, and Grand Cayman received grants, funding 130,000 swim lessons for more than 32,000 children.
Since its launch in 2012, Step Into Swim has provided more than 400,000 swim lessons through YMCAs, Jewish Community Centers, Boys & Girls Clubs, and other organizations.
The program is funded entirely through contributions, ensuring that every dollar donated goes directly to learn-to-swim programs.
