CAN YOU TOP THIS?
Welcome to the latest edition of our popular “Can You Top This?” column, featuring the newest entry in the Service Industry News “Horror File. ”
This issue’s entry comes to us from Rick Swigert of Rick's Pool Service in Granada Hills, Calif.
“I got a call from a client to let me know he was having some concrete work done at the house and that they poured an equipment pad. They obviously decided they didn't need to have me remove the equipment first.”
Well Rick, your submission sure does get our Horror File Contest off to a great start.
Just for fun, and to entice more submissions, Service Industry News announces a Horror File contest. We will give one award per region represented. There are 7 regions. Look back at the June 1st 2024 edition on page 11 to find your region. Winners announed Dec. 15, 2025.
At Service Industry News, we would rather go behind the scenes and take a closer look at the type of stuff our readers encounter everyday — cracked tiles, spaghetti plumbing, rats in heaters, cars in the pool, snakes in the plumbing, and more!
When you are out in the field and you see something that doesn’t look right, send us an email along with a picture and a brief description: Send your photo to info@serviceindustrynews. net. Please write: Attention Horror File, in the subject line and thank you for remembering us when you are out there working hard.
