No chlorine in pool, woman hospitalized

A 23-year-old Michigan woman has filed a lawsuit against an Ann Arbor hotel claiming she contracted a bacterial infection in its swimming pool.

Alexis Williams is out of the hospital after three leg surgeries and a heavy dose of antibiotics, which were necessary to combat a MSRA infection, according to her attorney, Ven Johnson.

Williams stayed with family members at the Residence Inn Downtown Ann Arbor in late June while visiting her grandmother.

Shortly after Williams and her cousins decided to use the swimming pool, they all became rapidly ill.

Williams said there didn’t appear to be anything wrong with the pool; the water looked fine.

“It just looked like a regular swimming pool,” Williams said.
