CAN YOU TOP THIS?

Welcome to the latest edition of our popular “Can You Top This?” column, featuring the newest entry in the Service Industry News “Horror File. ”

This issue’s entry comes to us from Paul Simoneau of Paul’s Pool Service and Repair in Jackson, Calif.

“I received a service call from a homeowner saying his “filter cartridges keep exploding”, writes Paul.

“I informed him the filter plumbing was reversed.

“My father has been in the pool business since 1988. In addition to going to the Monterey PIE Show since it’s first year (I was in a stroller!), growing up I’ve enjoyed reading the Horror File entries.”

Wow, that is so neat Paul! Would you believe that this issue was meant to be the show issue for the 2020 PIE show? When the show was cancelled, we decided to write about social media instead; a topic more suited to people your age, so thank you for sending, and good catch on the backwards plumbing.

Other publications like to print lots of pretty pictures of beautiful pools, spas and well engineered installations.

At Service Industry News, we would rather go behind the scenes and take a closer look at the type of stuff our readers encounter everyday. — cracked tiles, tree roots, spaghetti plumbing, rats in the heater, cars in the pool and more!

When you are out in the field and you see something that doesn’t look right, send us an email along with a picture and a brief description: Attention Horror File, serviceindustrynewscd@yahoo.com.
