CAN YOU TOP THIS?

Welcome to the latest edition of our popular “Can You Top This?” column, featuring the newest entry in the Service Industry News “Horror File. ”

This issue’s entry comes to us from Jim Stearns of Stearns Pools & Spas in New Braunfels, Texas.

“I was asked by a local service company to assist in an overview of a commercial property they had just acquired”, writes Jim.

“As we entered one of the pools I noticed some of the pool furniture was zip tied to the pool fence. When I asked about it, I was told that the apartment manager knew that the pool fencing had some loose and missing pickets and while they were informed the fence was in need of repairs they didn’t have the funds to accomplish said repairs. The old service company decided that until they got the fences repaired and up to code, he had a work around. He zip tied the pool furniture into the gaps to become compliant. Wylie E. Coyote, Genius! My advice to the new service company … RUN AWAY!!!!

Thank you for sending this to us Jim. It sure is a safety danger, so with any luck, including it here might illustrate to others what not to do!

At Service Industry News, we go behind the scenes and take a close look at the type of stuff our readers encounter everyday. — cracked tiles, tree roots, spaghetti plumbing, rats in the heater, cars in the pool and more!

When you are out in the field and you see something that doesn’t look right, send us an email along with a picture and a brief description: Attention Horror File, serviceindustrynewscd@yahoo.com.
