30 FSPA scholarship recipients share $72K

Student dependents of Florida pool and spa professionals saw more scholarship money than ever this year through the Margaret M. Brown Scholarship Fund of the Florida Swimming Pool Association. .

Every year, FSPA offers scholarship opportunities to dependents of owners and employees of FSPA member companies.

The program helps members meet the high cost of college expenses for their children.

In most years, an average of $28,000 is distributed to deserving students. This year, however, a total of $72,200 was awarded to 30 students – thanks to a generous donation of $30,000 from Insurance by Ken Brown, as well as a 100% matching funds promise from the Bill Kent Family Foundation.

Dr. Bill Kent, Chief Executive Officer of Team Horner, said, “It is our pleasure to support continuing education for everyone in the swimming pool industry.”.

The Margaret M. Brown Scholarship Fund of the Florida Swims Foundation is made possible through donations of FSPA members. In most years, Insurance by Ken Brown donates $5,000. But this year, he added an additional $25,000 in his wife's memory.

FSPA thanks everyone who donated to support the students of FSPA member company employees.
