Hasa Inc. acquires Orenda Technologies
The acquisition expands Hasa’s water treatment pool products with Orenda’s specialty products

By Marcelle Dibrell

Hasa, Inc., a U.S. producer and distributor of water treatment products, has announced the acquisition of Orenda Technologies, a manufacturer and supplier of professional-grade, eco-friendly specialty pool chemicals.

“We are thrilled to announce Hasa’s expansion into these professionalgrade specialty products, which the industry increasingly recognizes as critical to maintain safe, clean, and clear water in swimming pools and spas,” said Chris Brink, CEO of Hasa in a press release. “With Hasa’s capabilities and resources plus Orenda’s top-notch team and market-facing partners, we will together provide significant value to pool professionals, residential, and commercial pool customers and our channel partners.”

The transaction expands Hasa’s commercial and residential pool channel support with Orenda as a strategic brand. Well-known for its high-quality line of specialty pool products, Orenda also serves as an industry leader with its deep library of educational resources for pool industry professionals and homeowners.

“Hasa Inc. acquired Orenda Technologies to change Hasa,” said Hasa’s CEO Chris Brink. “We will not cut Orenda products. We will listen to and support Orenda people. And we will join forces with their talented people.” Pool service professionals have voiced concerns about the acquisition on social media sites.

Addressing those concerns, Brinks wrote on LinkedIn, “We joined with Orenda to change Hasa, not the other way around. We will not cut Orenda products. We will listen to and support Orenda people. And we will join forces with their talented folks to make an even better, more pro-focused company for every pro from coast to coast!”

Harold Evans, Chairman & CEO of Orenda, said that Hasa is one of the premier brands in the industry and that he plans to join Hasa’s team in an advisory role.

“I think the future of our brand is in the right hands. It is bittersweet, of course, but it is in the best interest of my employees and the industry to join forces with our big brother,” Evans wrote on LinkedIn. “This relationship between Chris and me has been developing for many years, earning my trust that has lead up to this moment. I am not going away — I have the same purpose as always… I have always believed in bleach so this fits us.”

Jarred Morgan, President of Orenda, will continue to lead the Orenda business under Hasa ownership.

“We are very proud of the brand we have built based upon great products, great people, and high industry credibility,” Morgan said. “We look forward to continuing to deliver industry-leading service to our customers and supporting the next phase of growth for the combined organization.”
