Service pros prefer ‘Polaris’ pressure-side cleaners

Lots of service techs recommend the Polaris 280, where it dominates the market in many regions of the country. After years on the market, this cleaner has proven its worth. Many say all Polaris units are workhorses and if the 280 is run long enough, it works very well. It has the added bonus that it’s easy to fix if something goes wrong.

The 280 sweeps, scrubs, and vacuums the bottom and walls of the pool. It includes 31 feet of feed hose, and is equipped with a singlechamber filter bag for capturing larger debris. And it is available in a Black Max™ model to complement dark-bottom pools. It is suitable for all inground pool surfaces and runs off a separate booster pump.

The Polaris 3900 Sport also comes highly recommended, delivering unmatched pool vacuum power, incomparable convenience, and legendary performance. It integrates the time-proven Polaris Classic series features with innovative new enhancements for added durability, reliability, and performance.

The Polaris 3900 Sport combines the dynamic appeal of a completely re-engineered body design with the most sophisticated features, producing maximum pool vacuum power and drive torque for quicker cleaning and fewer hang-ups. It features an all-wheel PosiDrive system with durable stainless steel drive chain. And it is equipped with a dual-chamber zippered SuperBag that picks up and stores more debris, making cleaning easy and less frequent. It features innovative autoreverse technology, which enables it to free itself if it gets stuck.

The Polaris 3900 Sport pressure cleaner works in all inground pools and requires a booster pump. It supplements the pool's filtration system by circulating an additional 40 gallons of water per minute through its filter bag.

The 3900 Sport includes TailSweep PRO, an advanced sweep hose enhancement that blows debris out of corners and hard-to-reach places while also keeping water from spraying outside the pool: No more wet windows or walkways.

Service techs say you can’t go wrong with Pentair’s Kreepy Krauly Legend pressure-side cleaner, which features a highly efficient booster pump (sold separately) for optimum power and unimpeded surface skimming, plus a large intake throat to handle large and small debris.

It also features:

• Front-wheel drive for maximum traction on inclined surfaces for total pool coverage.

• Four-wheel design prevents tipping (common with 3-wheel cleaners) for uninterrupted and unattended performance.

• Large intake throat and highcapacity bag handle large debris with ease.

• Heavy-duty, large-capacity twist lock collection bag for long periods between cleanings and ease of maintenance.

• Available in Gray/White or all Gray.

• Cleans most pools in just 1–3 hours.
