Integrating water safety in your service business

‘PARTNERING WITH THE NDPA’

By Emily Wujcik

In the world of pool service professionals, staying up-to-date with the latest trends, innovations, and best practices is essential to ensure the safety and satisfaction of clients. The National Water Safety Conference brings together 2 incredible groups for one conference. NWSC is put on by the National Drowning Prevention Alliance and Association of Aquatic Professionals. They bring together over 1,000 attendees, over 50 sessions to attend, and over 300 exhibitors.

The NWSC brings experts in the aquatic field together to share their knowledge and expertise. Some of these experts include people from the American Red Cross, Colorado Timing Systems, Independent Pool & Spa Service Association Inc, Families United to Prevent Drowning, and Pool and Hot Tub Alliance to name a few. These experts also lead panel discussions and give presentations on the latest safety protocols and aquatic technology. Learning more about the latest in your field can help your business become more efficient, cost effective in your practices, and thus lead to greater client satisfaction.

Attending the NWSC in Reno, Nevada provides you a vast opportunity to network with other aquatic professionals, including industry experts, and potential business partners. Sharing experiences and exchanging ideas with these peers who are able to share from their own different backgrounds and expertise can broaden your own perspectives. These collaborations can lead you to being able to share strategies and discuss common challenges, thus leading to collective problem solving.

Pool and water safety regulations can vary depending on the area. You can benefit from speaking with other professionals about the best ways to stay informed about these regulations and make sure you are staying in compliance with them. Understanding the best practices and other regulations and laws, can lead to reducing risk for you and your clients. Beyond this, CEUs will be tracked for attendance purposes. This can allow you to show your organization, company, and clients that you are making active efforts to ensure you are keeping up with the latest in the aquatic industry. The educational opportunities can further enhance your credibility and marketability as well.

Every industry has its unique challenges, and the pool service industry is no exception. The NWSC provides a place and space to bring together multiple professionals to address these challenges and brainstorm possible creative and innovative solutions. Bringing together experts in the field and continuing to work together even after the conference contributes to the overall growth and sustainability of the aquatic industry and field.

Attending the NWSC is a must for pool service professionals seeking to gain more experience, knowledge, and collaboration in the aquatic industry. From gaining the latest insights to networking with industry professionals and leaders and accessing the latest equipment, the NWSC offers a range of benefits that can be felt far past the last day of the conference. Investing the time and effort into attending conferences like this, pool service professionals are taking an active role in ensuring safety and satisfaction of their clients. This can help set you up for success in the aquatic industry.
