Aloha from the service techs of SPAH

The Swimming Pool Association of Hawaii (SPAH) is a non-profit organization that has been active in Honolulu for about 20 years. Currently consisting of approximately 25 members, mostly “one poler’s”, (self-employed with no employees), with anywhere from 1 to 40 years’ experience in the pool business SPAH meets once monthly for about 1.5 hours on average, discussing both local and national issues dealing with the pool industry but mostly focusing on education, training, and mentoring members.

SPAH occasionally has guest speakers brought in to discuss topics like pool chemistry, products, accounting and bookkeeping, CPR training, insurance, and more.

SPAH is always interested in growing membership while most importantly offering “sick route coverage” for residential accounts to members in case of sickness or injury-related issues where the member may need help covering their pool route while not being able to work, but still having their same income because SPAH offers this service in most circumstances at no cost to the sick or injured member in accordance with SPAH’s guidelines. Because of this sick route coverage, SPAH has saved about 16 members’ pool businesses over the years and continues to do so.

Meetings are held once monthly, usually providing free food along with gift raffles of pool chemicals, gas cards, tools, etc.
