MA pool builder to serve 2 years in prison

A Massachusetts pool builder was convicted of scamming a family out of $12,000 for a pool that was never built.

On August 19, Jeffrey Trifone, 51, was sentenced to serve two years in the Bristol County House of Corrections.

The family contacted Trifone, of Pool Solutions, in March 2021 about installing a pool. In April, Trifone met with the family at their home where they finalized a contract for a 16×32 foot kidney-shaped inground pool, which was expected to be completed within about three months.

Trifone took a $12,000 deposit.

According to the district attorney’s office, after the check was cashed, Trifone stopped responding to calls or texts, ordered no materials for the project, and completed no work.

“This defendant was contracted to install a pool but had no intention of ever doing the work,” District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III said. “He also has defrauded others who testified at the trial. I would like to commend the prosecution team for doing a very thorough and effective job in putting the case together. I hope the verdict gives the victim some consolation that the defendant was held accountable for his fraudulent representations and theft of $12,000.”
