Fire at Ohana Pool & Spa in Maui, Hawaii

Fire officials are still investigating the cause of a structure fire that broke out March 18, 2021, at Ohana Pool and Spa in Maui, Hawaii.

According to the Maui Fire Department, the fire broke out around 6 p.m. and was brought under control two hours later with crews from Wailuku, Kahului, Makawao and Kihei responding along with two battalion chiefs.

Officials said there was no preliminary evidence the fire was intentionally set.

The fire was contained within the 2.240-square-foot section of the structure used by Ohana Pool and Spa. Officials estimated damages of nearly $1 million – $466,000 for the structure and $500,000 for its contents.

As of March 19, the cause of the fire was classified as undetermined and the investigation is ongoing.
