CAN YOU TOP THIS?

Welcome to the latest edition of our popular “Can You Top This?” column, featuring the newest entry in the Service Industry News “Horror File. ”

This issue’s entry comes to us from Matthew Dunn of Independently Dunn, LLC , in Redmond, Washington.

“I received a service call for a leak on the heater,” writes Matthew.

“The heater had been repaired by another service company, and since the client’s husband died, she blamed the pool problems on me and refused to pay.

“She didn’t pay me for my heater; my labor to install; my labor to remove the foam filled heater; the gasline upgrade; the pad upgrade; or the bypass valves. She didn’t pay for the pool light; or my labor to install and she didn’t pay for the chemicals used to clean up the green body of water. After this job I refused to repair, fix, or maintain any aboveground pools.”

Other publications like to print lots of pretty pictures of beautiful pools, spas and well engineered installations.

At Service Industry News, we would rather go behind the scenes and take a closer look at the type of stuff our readers encounter everyday — cracked tiles, tree roots, spaghetti plumbing, rats in the heater, cars in the pool and more!
